3rd CODE^SHIFT Symposium on “Media & Social Justice: Global Perspectives” to take place on October 4, 2024

We are delighted to announce that CODE^SHIFT will host its third research Symposium on October 4, 2024. The theme for this year's symposium is  "Media and Social Justice: Global Perspectives". For the first time, this symposium will offer a Zoom option for both speakers and attendees to participate from around the world. 


Date: Friday, October 4, 2024

Time: 9 AM to 4 PM

Venue: I-3 Center (Room 432, Newhouse 3), or via Zoom

Four themed presentation sessions will be held throughout the day, featuring over 20 faculty experts from across the country and globe. 


Confirmed speakers include Drs. Leandra Hernandez (U of Utah), Wunpini Mohammed (Cornell U), David Stamps (Bentley University), and Rukhsana Ahmed (SUNY Albany). CODE^SHIFT students will host a lunchtime poster session. 


The program will conclude with a book launch and celebratory reception for the “Oxford Handbook of Media & Social Justice", co-edited by CODE^SHIFT director Dr. Srivi Ramasubramanian, along with Dr. Omotayo O. Banjo of the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Travis Dixon (U of Illinois) will deliver a closing keynote.
